Continuing the festivities in April down here in Texas, I now bring you… River Raft Race 2010!
Every year Sigma Alpha Epsilon – Texas Sigma Alumni Chapter hosts their annual River Raft Race in San Marcos, Texas. This will be their 17th year to host the event and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever. Over the years, River Raft Race has drawn over 2,500 college students and an estimated 450 rafts. Also, the Texas Sigma Alumni Association donates a portion of the proceeds to charitable organizations. To date, they have donated $10,000. That’s awesome! The past several months have been miserable around here with all the rain but thankfully it has led to higher water levels for perfect floating conditions, and that’s exactly the case for River Raft Race 2010.

The Race will be Saturday, April 24th and floaters will be cruisin’ down the Guadalupe River from Camp Huaco Springs to the Gruene Bridge (by Rockin’ R). Launch times are determined by the time you register so if you haven’t already reserved a raft, get on it! Drop times have already sold out for the 5-person rafts, but there is still tons of availability for the 2-person rafts. The earlier your launch time, the longer you have to float and the more fun you’ll have! The cost for a 2-person raft is $65. You can reserve your raft online at www.riverraftrace.com.
Not only is this event a great opportunity to relax and hang out with friends, but it’s also the ideal time for businesses to advertise and promote their companies. Perfect for those up and coming businesses! For more information about River Raft Race 2010, visit www.riverraftrace.com. There you can find a full list of rules and regulations regarding what is prohibited and permitted during the float.
