It’s about time. It’s been forever since the original South Park game for Playstation (and N64? I don’t remember). A decade later, after conquering TV, movies, and now Broadway, Trey Parker and Matt Stone are returning to the world of video games. They’re teaming up with THQ and Obsidian (the folks behind Fallout: New Vegas) to bring you a new South Park RPG. Get excited.

Details are sparse at most. All we really know is what Game Informer has revealed on their site, coupled with the release of their next issue’s cover, which will probably reveal a whole lot more about the ambitious project. Word is that Trey and Matt themselves are writing the script, performing the dialogue, and overseeing development, so you can trust that it will be true to the world of the show.

You’ll play as the new kid in South Park, it’ll be up to you to make friends (hopefully that includes EVERYONE on the above cover) and defend the town from a wide range of threats. Watch out for Mecha Barbara Streisand. The game will be released on Xbox360, Playstation 3, and PC – so anyone can play it.

You can pick up the January 2012 edition of Game Informer if you wanna find out more about the game, and check back to their site (don’t expect anything to be on there just yet) throughout them month for video interviews, extended info, and more.
