Local H has been around since the 90’s, when they became most well known for their hit song “Bound to the Floor,” which still gets played every day on rock radio stations all across the country. You wouldn’t know it by listening to them, but Local H has always only been comprised of two members.
Singer/guitarist Scott Lucas has been the frontman of the band since its inception, and their original drummer was replaced by Brian St. Clair in 1999. Scott plays both guitar and bass due to a special pickup added to his guitar. Unlike the White Stripes, who are marketed as a two-piece band (and you can definitely HEAR it in the music), Scott admits that they attempted keep their band member count between them and their hardcore fans.
We talk about this during the podcast and how he thinks that might have been a mistake. Click here to listen to the podcast on a mobile phone. Local H is hitting the road for an all singles tour to follow up their ISLAND YEARS album which hits the stands on 4/5/11. If you’re a fan of Alt Rock you probably know Local H already, but if you don’t, definitely check them out and think about hitting up one of their tour dates listed below!
