 arena

Those of  us New Yorkers remember Arena as the place to be for the sickest party on the weekend. New York is filled with clubs but Arena just seems to stick out for anyone who remembers it. The good news: Arena will be re-opening tonight for one night of epic proportions. The Better News: proceeds from the entire event will go directly to charity. Your chance to feel good in your liver, and in your soul.

According to the Facebook Invite that I promptly clicked “Attending” on, “Expect nothing you have experienced with charity events before. This one will make you glad you are making a difference.” With a lineup of DJ’s and the cheapest bottle service around, how could you not? As of now, 500 people are set to attend. Case in point: this party is going to be sick, and you might even be able to write off that bottle of Grey Goose on your taxes.

bottle service

Speaking of Grey Goose, the Event Page boasts “Insane Bottle Specials.” 2 Bottle Mix and Match for $500, all the way up to 6 Bottles for $1500. Anyone who’s been to a NY Club in the last year knows what a fucking steal that is. The more bottles, the more girls in mini-dresses you can invite over to “join you.” The bottle choices are Grey Goose, Belvedere, Johnny Black, Jack Daniels, Patron, Moet Brut, Veuve Cliquot.

As I mentioned before, the proceeds are going to two different charities: Pencils of Promise and Charity Water. Pencils of Promise devotes its time to building schools in developing countries and helps poverty stricken students learn to be leaders and innovators. Charity Water brings water to children and families in developing nations. Anyone who reads the news knows that water is a hot commodity in many different countries and getting it clean and healthy isn’t as easy as grabbing a bottle of Poland Spring at 7-11. By educating children and bringing them clean, non-Malaria infected water, both these charities are working hard to make the world a better place, and to help them out, all you have to do is the same thing you would do on any other night out: buy a bottle and wile out.

The event takes place tonight at Arena. Check out the EventBrite page  for more details and for reservations. Performers at the event include Jesse Marco and George Garcia among any others. If you’re in New York, you better be there, and if not, spread the word. If you haven’t done anything good for anyone else all year, and i’m guessing you haven’t, now is the chance to get Karma back on your side and have an awesome night out while doing it. We’ll be there, as usual.
