“This is it.” A simple three word text message sent from Brett Favre to his now “former” Minnesota Vikings teammates said it all – #4 is hanging up his cleats.  According to a report in the Minnesota Star-Tribune that was later confirmed by the Associated Press, Favre will not be under center for his 20th NFL season because his injured ankle is not responding well to multiple corrective surgeries.  Although I will always be disgruntled with how Favre just had a brief, bitter cup of tea with my beloved New York Jets in 2008, I will genuinely miss his childlike approach to the game and have never seen a tougher quarterback step between the white lines every Sunday.  Brett, if this really is your swan song, then farewell Old Gray Beard, see you in Canton.
