Ahh, college – The only place where it’s socially acceptable to be a drunken disaster in the middle of a street. And that’s exactly what happened on Kirkwood after IU beat Kentucky by one point on December 10. Check out this ridiculous video of everyone getting rowdy in the streets, all over cars, and just getting generally sloppy all over the place.

Pink Cashmere Rocks The Dunnkirk, Tomorrow Night!

278874_151325311612675_151306581614548_280797_8163208_o

Yes, one of our favorite musical acts is coming to Kilroy’s Dunnkirk in Bloomington. Hybrid Rock/DJ duo Pink Cashmere is gonna blow the roof off the venue tomorrow night – all you Hoosiers better make some serious moves. Tickets only cost $5, so you have no excuse not to go.

A little bit of background in case you haven’t heard of Pink Cashmere: the group, originally from New York City, consists of DJ Tanner and guitarist Andrew Watt, and together they rock out with some of the best electro-house/pop-rock of this or any generation. This is unlike any DJ set you’ve ever seen before – the improvisation of a rock guitarist over the party-inducing dance beats of a skilled DJ produce an atmosphere distinct from any other.

They go on at our favorite venue, The Dunnkirk, tomorrow at 11 PM, so you best be there. Check out and RSVP at the event page on Facebook. As an added plus, there’s bottle and table service for $100. It’s the freaking weekend – let’s rage.

Jesse Marco Spins at Dunnkirk for Seniors’ Last Halloween

Jesse-Marco

Jesse-Marco

Hoosiers, we just found your Halloween plans for you. You can thank us later. Kilroy’s Dunnkirk is hosting one last Halloween/Homecoming rager for all you seniors, so get into your raciest costume and get ready to party: DJ and producer Jesse Marco is coming to blow up Bloomington on October 31st.

22-years-old New York native Jesse Marco has quickly solidified himself as one of America’s premiere DJs. As a teenager, Jesse, heavily influenced by his parents’ vast record collection, began to fuse rock, punk, soul, and funk with the hip-hop of his generation. “My parents’ musical tastes really shaped mine. My first cassette was Led Zeppelin and my second was Sam Cooke.”

Soon, Jesse began DJing prep school parties around Manhattan, largely filling his crates with his parents’ records. He laughs, “I was the only 16-year-old deejay in the city playing Buddy Holly and Lauryn Hill.” Downtown crowds, however, quickly gravitated to his eclectic sets and by the time the young DJ graduated from high school he was a staple behind the velvet ropes inside New York’s most exclusive nightclubs.

Jesse’s encyclopedic knowledge of music and remarkable skill have since taken him around the globe spinning private parties for celebrities including Heidi Klum, Russell Simmons, Spike Lee, Denzel Washington, and Karolina Kurkova. Jesse has become a favorite of the fashion and art worlds playing high-profile events for Calvin Klein, Vivienne Westwood, Donna Karan, Diesel, GQ, and Kaws. Tom Ford hired Jesse to deejay his Milan Fashion Week runway show, stating Jesse’s “musical taste reminds me of my childhood.”

So check Jesse spin as the headliner this coming Monday, and come ready to rage. There’s even a best costume contest with prizes like a free spring break trip sponsored by Xtreme Trips or a free bottle of champagne. Face it- you’re not going to class Tuesday.

You might remember last night when we told you that Deadmau5 at Pic a Chic Farm was rained out, and the world renowned DJ/producer went to Bloomington’s Bluebird to play an awesome late night set. We hear he played more than 4 hours, and Feed Me and Le Castle Vania joined him (sorry Excision). Wanna see? Here’s a sick video.

Before the massive rave at IU was canceled, the mau5 was chilling with some students on the field, signing autographs. Check out this exclusive pic we got:

IU GLOWfest Rained Out, Deadmau5 Goes To The Bluebird

deadmau5-title

Apparently it’s raining in Bloomington, IN and GLOWfest at Pic a Chic Farms was totally rained out. Yikes. But Hoosiers don’t fret: Deadmau5 is playing a surprise late night set at The Bluebird (260 N Walnut St.). It starts at 12:30 AM and goes all night, but if I was you I wouldn’t wait until 12:25 to show up. The clock is ticking…and not all of IU can fit in a medium-sized bar. Our friends from Rollies are still gonna be there, so be sure to cop a pair, and stay up all night! I guess no one is going to class tomorrow.

Campus Of The Week: Indiana

By Tyler R Spaulding

I went into last weekend with huge expectations and I have to give credit where credit is due…USF you guys are maniacs. Gasaparilla on Saturday was insane, even though the weather was shitty it didn’t stop all the pirate hookers from coming out. I really think they should make beads a form of currency throughout the country, everyone would be so much happier and the plastic industry would be booming. Now onto this weekend and another shitshow of a time. This weekend has some sentimental value to me, it’s the last weekend of the year in which football will be played. It’s like the last big ragger of the semester…you know it’s going to be an insane time, there will be more man hugs than any other weekend of the year, your bound to at least make out with some chick you have never seen before and you will wake up feeling like you just got punched straight to the dome piece. Since I was in Miami last weekend and New Orleans a few weeks before I felt it was time to show the Colt fans some love. I got my Manning jersey packed and I’m ready for a serious celebration come Sunday night, if your not a Saints fan jump on this bandwagon and join me as I take over Indiana University for SuperBowl weekend.
