What Your College Experience Was (Or Should’ve Been) Through Movies

no thumb

Another semester of college is coming to an end, and for many this means the end of the most ridiculous four (or five) years of your life. In between all the last minute studying, bar crawls, and packing, you’re looking back on the good and bad of college. I know that before I came to college, I thought school would be just like the movies.

So in honor of that and the upcoming graduation, here’s a list of the best five movies that may (or may not) sum up your college experience. Maybe they’ll remind you of your time at school, or maybe they’ll bring back those last minute bucket list ideas. Regardless, they will keep you from another day of having to figure out life after college.

Glee Goes Gaga (Again!)

no thumb

Last night’s Glee was all about accepting yourself for who you are regardless of your flaws – whether it be a large nose, a butt-chin, or being so OCD that you can’t even have a relationship. What better way to symbolize that than with a song by the Queen of self-acceptance Lady Gaga and putting your flaw on a t-shirt? There was a lot of hype surrounding this episode because of Gaga giving the song to Glee before it was even released and the episode’s 90 minute length (that’s like a feature film). As The Campus Socialite’s resident Gleek, I feel like it’s my obligation to share what I thought about it.

Sleeping With The Enemy: The Sports Rivalries Edition

no thumb

Growing up in Boston, the parentals raised me on all the local sports teams. No games were played in our house that didn’t feature the Red Sox, the Bruins, the Celtics, or the Patriots. Don’t get me wrong, I love all those teams and I will support them forever, but going to college made me realize something. People outside of Massachusetts like different teams, and worse, those fans of those other teams might just be the guy that I end up with at the end of the night. Now obviously I can’t tell my mother this because she’s always told me that if I ever married a New York Yankees fan, that I might as well move out. Scary but true. Is it possible to date someone that cheers for the rival?

Kardashian Overload: Khloe and Lamar Take Over E!

khloe kardashian lamar odom

Last night was the premiere of “Khloe and Lamar,” yet another show focused around a Kardashian. Every time I think that this family and their 15 seconds of fame are up, E! gives them another show. I blame Ryan Seacrest and all those random commercials that feature them eating salads and working out. All over twitter, people were tweeting their excitement for this new show, making me further question why people are so obsessed with this family. So I watched (I’m not proud to say), and here’s what I thought.

The Six Types of College Crushes

crush-child

Crushes are something that everyone has and they start from the early days on the playground. When you were younger and were constantly being made fun of or bothered by someone of the opposite sex, it was probably because they had a crush on you. Being in college, the rules of crushes are completely different. Though you could go up to a girl you like and punch her, I really wouldn’t recommend it.There are many types of crushes so don’t be surprised if you go through this list and find yourself thinking “been there, liked that person.”

Dayglow Survival Guide

This past weekend, “ZooMass” was lucky to not have one but two night of Dayglow at the Mullins Center. No exaggeration, going to this show was the best and most ridiculous night of my life. Everything that you could possibly imagine happening, happened. Just picture 5000+ people covered in paint, and that doesn’t even do it justice.

After this weekend, I like to think I’m an expert on Dayglow so I’ve come up with a guide on it and why everyone should experience it if you can.

The Many Faces of Britney Spears

britney spears

In honor of ‘Femme Fatale,’ the seventh studio album from the one and only Britney Spears, The Campus Socialite is taking a look back at the many phases (and hair styles) of Britney. Needless to say, Britney has gone through a lot of shit over the years, some bad, and some worse. Her new album is actually pretty good, and she seems to have gotten her marbles in order. But here’s to dwelling on the past, with The Many Faces of Britney Spears.
