This year was notorious for great movies and next year will be no different.  Over the past couple of months, there have been talks and casting information for the upcoming year.  The range from dramas to comedies looks like it will be a lot of money spent at the movie theater next year.  But exactly how are you going to avoid all the flops and stinks next year.  Well here are a few flicks to check out in the first half of the year.

Your New Buddy: the Hoodiebuddie

The other day I was walking down the street on my way to class when I saw one of my friends coming out of the bank. She was putting a wire from her jacket pocket in to her iPod but there were no headphones, or at least none that I could see. I say “hi” and make the usual small talk, and then I get around to asking her what she was doing with the wire in her pocket. She told me that she just got this jacket called a Hoodiebuddie. I was still lost as she was explaining, but what I did hear was that the jacket had earphones in the drawstrings.

What To Expect From The X Factor

In case you have been living under a rock, then you haven’t heard that Simon Cowell is bringing his British TV hit “The X Factor” to the US next year. This made me think though what makes it different from American Idol. Well I found out if the US version is anything like the British version this show will be at least ten times better than American Idol for the following reasons.

Finals Are Coming And So Is Study Time…

While I was setting up my calendar this morning, I realized that finals start in two weeks. I remember moving into my place like it was yesterday. Where did this semester go? It really does feel like I just got my syllabus. I realized there was no point in panicking and thought of some ways I could get through the rest of the semester without burning myself out.

An Austin Halloween

It is obvious that every college city has their one big kicker every year. Austin, however, has many, and one of the biggest will be going on this week. I always thought when I got to college Halloween would be staying at the dorm with kids being allowed to come through and trick or treat at our doors. The main reason for this is because this was my sister’s experience when she was in college. Upon my first year here at UT, I found out this was not the case at all. It was more of a whole week of preparation for one weekend of fun craziness. It isn’t only the students who get in on the fun. The professors also dress up around Halloween. I actually saw my Chemistry professor wearing a Spaak costume.
