ENCORE: Randy Moss Heading Back To Minnesota

In a not-so-surprising move, but not-so-smart either, the New England Patriots have traded superstar receiver Randy Moss back to the Minnesota Vikings where the freakish athlete started his career.  The writing has been on the wall for this to happen the entire season.  Moss has been frustrated with management about not getting a contract extension, and then after being reprimanded by coach Belichick would follow up by apologizing for the remarks. His performance on the field this season has mirrored his frustration in inconsistency.  The Patriots received a 3rd round pick in exchange for Randy Moss from the Vikings.  While the Patriots have stockpiled their 2011 draft (they will have two picks in each of the first four rounds of the draft), they are giving up on by far their most talented player on the offensive side of the ball.  As for the Vikings, Brett Favre must have a smile from ear to ear.  Imagine the passing attack they will have in place once Sidney Rice gets healthy.  Moss and Rice on the outside, Percy Harvin on the inside, and Peterson out of the backfield, ooooowwwweeeeee.  The Vikings just managed to get themselves back into the conversation for Superbowl contender with one swift trade.  The Patriots, from the looks of it, are beginning a rebuilding scheme.  With an outdated defense and an offense that lacks weapons, by focusing on draft picks the Patriots are now looking to the future.  You can never rule out Belichick, but I just don’t think they have the assets to win a Superbowl this year on either side of the ball.  I, for one, am excited to see Randy Moss, one of the best all-time receivers, catching passes from Brett Favre, the all-time best quarterback.  Check out some highlights of Randy Moss’s career dating back to his days with the Vikings after the jump.
