Early morning classes are one of those unpleasant but often unavoidable things you have to face during your college career. While you might not have to suffer through one every semester, there’s going to come a point when you will.
Between classes, late-night studying, a job, and your social life, wondering how you’re going to make it to class on time each morning is plenty stressful. It’s even more stressful if you want to look at least somewhat put-together when you walk into the classroom.
What to wear
What to wear to an early morning class is simple for some: whatever they slept in. However, it’s not a good look.
Never wear your pajamas to class. If you want to maintain a certain level of comfort and you don’t want to put forth the effort to get dressed up, at least put together a casual outfit in an appropriate manner.
There are a few simple ways you can get dressed for class without putting out a lot of effort so early in the morning. Wear a maxi dress and cute sandals. Toss a sweater over it and go.
Try leggings and a long tunic, ballet flats, and a fedora. If you want real clothes, a pair of skinny jeans, ballet flats, and a white tee will never be out of style.
What to carry
Backpacks are not fashionable on college campuses. Instead, opt for a sleek, oversized tote bag that fits all your essentials and your laptop or iPad. Prepare your bag the night before so that when you wake up early for class, all you have to do is grab it and go.
Hair and makeup
For an early morning class, nothing is faster and easier than a messy bun or long braid. As far as makeup, go easy on it. You don’t need a full face to go to one early morning class.
Try a little concealer, some blush to make you look awake, mascara, and a little lip gloss. You’ll look chic and pulled-together in no time.
College students have a reputation for oversleeping and missing early classes. They also have a reputation for walking around in sweatpants with words on their behind or pajamas, both of which are so far from fashionable they’re not even worth the shame of mentioning.
Don’t let yourself fall into the trap of forgoing style just because you have an early class. You can still look chic and put-together without having to wake up any earlier than you absolutely must.
