College Life on TBS: Glory Daze Premiere

The 80’s are alive and well on the TBS. show Glory Daze. For those of you who missed the premiere of Glory Daze (Tuesday Boozeday is a good excuse), here’s a quick recap:

A Jew, a protestant, an Asian, a jock, and an awkward kid walk into a college in 1986 and are immediately inundated with funny/weird situations, tons of alcohol (20 bucks to the first person to make “The Beast”), hot girls, and Greek life. It’s almost too much fun to bare. The downside? Something about the set and costume design is extremely amiss…they don’t resemble 1986 in the least. It kind of seems like the actors just wore their normal clothes onto the set. TBS should know that accuracy is important to keeping up the illusion of reality. But if you’re a college graduate, and you need a way to reminisce about your collegiate experience, this show works just fine.

What more do you need to know? For those of you who want to catch up, I won’t spoil any of the antics in the first episode. I will say, however, that it’s definitely setting up one hell of a freshman year for the characters on the show. There won’t be any cliffhangers, but I definitely want to see more ASAP. Be sure to set your DVRs for 10 PM on Tuesdays, or kill two birds with one stone and make a “Glory Daze” drinking game.
