Life Lessons Straight From ‘The Hills’

Last night was the last episode of one of the longest running reality series, The Hills. The Hills, having been around for four years has brought us six seasons of vapid, addictive dramatics. Spending my late teens/early twenties with the girls from The Hills has been quite the experience. I admit, sometimes I live vicariously through the lives of the girls on the show and consequently have learned a few things.

The difference between a guinea pig and a hamster: Thanks Stephanie Pratt for making this mistake. LC caught Stephanie calling her pet by the wrong name. You think Stephanie would have known what she was buying…guess not.

Looking like Barbie isn’t ideal: Heidi 2.0 admitted to her mother that she wanted to look like a Barbie. I always thought I wanted to look like Barbie…until I saw the real Heidi doll.

Always go to Paris: Lauren chose to stay in California with her then, loser boyfriend, Jason instead on going to Paris. Soon after, Lauren’s relationship with Jason was on the fritz, leaving her wishing she’d gone to Paris.

Don’t fall for the boy with two first names: Lo cleverly named Justin and or Bobby, JustinBobby. JustinBobby had Audrina wrapped around his greasy finger for most of the series. His incoherent words of passion were so vague he left me bewildered. Though once he cut his hair, he did become insanely hot.

Know when to leave:…a relationship that is. Audrina and JustinBobby would always leave and come back to one another, and Kristen and Brody were playing a game of cat and mouse this last season. Know when to leave so the drama from The Hills does not ensue in your life.

If you’re family doesn’t like him, dump him: Classic case, Spencer and Heidi. Heidi’s family and friends all hated Spencer and if I was Heidi, I’d seem desperately unhappy.

Crystals don’t work: One of the last times we saw Spencer, he was trying to use crystals to calm himself. Yeah…didn’t work.

Living With Friends Can Ruin Relationships: Audrina and Lauren lived together and drama ensued. It’ll be hard to forget when Lauren cried black, mascara tears from her “talk” with Audrina.

Thanks, The Hills, for a great six seasons. Thank God I have The Bachelor to feed my reality TV addiction.
