Lil Wayne Launches Blog, Thanx Fans From Prison

In 2010, when a superstar rapper gets locked up he is now just a click away from communicating with his fan base. Imprisoned rapper Lil Wayne is making sure he is not forgotten while he serves his sentence as he has now launched a website dedicated to keeping in touch with his fans.

The website launched last Friday (April 2) complete with weekly updates, a blog about sports and to respond to letters he’s received from fans since he began his prison stint last month.  According to Mashable, “It appears that Lil Wayne’s new site isn’t a case of celebrities getting special treatment in jail, however. It was put together by Karen Civil, who works in online marketing at the rapper’s label. She told me in an email last night, “Wayne writes hand written letters giving updates on his time, and also answering questions from fans. The letter is re written to his blog.”   The site also features “Free Weezy” t-shirts that are available for purchase. Coming soon, he will continue his work with ESPN and post blog entries in conjunction with them. Upon visiting the site you will also notice a countdown clock till Wayne is released.

“Your letter was so thoughtful and sincere,” he wrote in response to Nurris Terrero of New York. “The way you worded everything left me in awe. Please send suggestions on books I should read. I look forward to checking them out.”

In his first post, Wayne explains that he has been spending his days working out and reading the Bible.  Next week’s scheduled post will be on the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

Wayne, a father of four, said his family has been most pressing on his mind during his sentence. “My kids race through my mind all day. They know they were created with love, so love is how their life will be defined. I just hope my love and adoration for them provides a temporary bandage on a wound I unknowingly inflicted on them.”

“I’m in good spirits man, for real,” he wrote, contradicting rumors he had been involved in an altercation at Rikers Island.

With the launch of this site, it appears Lil Wayne’s status will only continue to rise. If you wish to contact the highly acclaimed rapper, he would love to hear from you. You may contact him at:
