It’s August. School is right around the corner… which for some means an end to a boring summer, and for others the end to a perfect summer. Either way a new scholastic year is coming up, ready or not! The question is how do you take full advantage of this brand new year?

School Events!

Whether it’s your school’s football games, homecoming events, movie previews, concerts, or guest speakers get involved! College is a time where the school provides FREE entertainment, not to mention you get to meet lots of new people that have similar interests as you. And if you have your set of friends already, then going to these events make great memories!

Hit the Clubs!

Pick a club that interests you: Salsa Club, Ballroom dancing, Chess, Intramural Clubs, Cultural Clubs, Rowing Club…whatever floats your boat! This will not only look good on a grad school resume but it’ll help you find an activity that you can come to after a long day of class!

Meet the Professors!

Ever been in a class and feel like you’re just not getting the material? Or you’re sitting at an A- and you want that A? Don’t know what to do? Go meet with your professor. Seriously. All professors have office hours that they have dedicated to meeting with students, and often times no one shows up! Professors appreciate students coming by, even if it’s to simply say hello or ask how their day is going. They are people too… treat them that way and you’ll see how much easier your class will become.

Follow these three steps, and you’ll enjoy the coming year that much more!
