NFL Playoffs 2010 Wild Card Weekend January 8th & 9th, 2010

New Orleans Saints @ Seattle Seahawks

4:30pm ET Saturday FOX

In the final game of the NFL season last night the Seattle Seahawks defeated the St. Louis Rams 16-6 to become the first sub-.500 team to make the NFL Playoffs with an embarrassing 7-9 record. Not only did the qualify for the playoffs, but the Seahawks won the NFC West and will now be allowed to host their first round game on Saturday afternoon. Qwest Field in Seattle is known throughout the league as perhaps the most intimidating, loudest stadium in the country. This will only get the Seahawks so far as the defending Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints come to town. Career backup Charlie Whitehurst will start at QB for Seattle and if last night’s game is any indication, he still has a lot to learn. Drew Brees and the Saints offense has returned to form and is putting up points at a similar pace to last season. New Orleans won the previous meeting in New Orleans 34-19 in week 11.

Green Bay Packers @ Philadelphia Eagles

4:30pm Sunday NBC

The Packers needed a victory over division rival Chicago on the final game of the season in order to qualify for the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers has been back for two games since his injury and seems to be in postseason form. Michael Vick has re-emerged as the leader of a dangerous Eagles offensive attack that includes RB LeSean McCoy, WR DeSean Jackson and WR Jeremy Maclin. This will surely be a high scoring affair between two of the leagues most prolific offenses.
