Nike Sportswear rolled out the orange carpet for a special launch event to introduce the fresh new line of Syracuse-inspired NSW gear designed by world-renowned artist, Futura.  The launch of the Futura x Syracuse collection was held at Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer. The event kicked off with a special Q+A featuring Futura, along with Syracuse basketball legends Pearl Washington and Paul Harris hosted by ESPN’s Jay Corbin. The excitement of the live Syracuse vs Georgetown game was evident and provided for an energetic evening. Following the Q+A was a raffle where the first 21 winners were awarded a Nike basketball signed by Futura, and the grand prize winner was awarded a Nike iD Bespoke Experience with Futura.  The lucky winning fan got the opportunity to design a sneaker right there and then with the legendary Futura.

On hand were a few Syracuse Alumni, Paul Harris (middle left) and Brooklyn’s own Dwane “Pearl” Washington accompanied by ESPN’s Jay Corbin (far left) and of course “Futura” (far right).

The Syracuse game broadcasting on 5 TV’s,and everyone stuck around to make it truly a night to remember.  To top it all off, Syracuse beat Georgetown 73-56 bringing the building to a cheer…

Futura took some time to sign everyone’s boxes and in some cases the shoes themselves…

Also known as the “Be True” line, you can check out a quick glimpse at some of the gear at SneakerNews.

*Thanks to ASG for bringing this great event and hot new line to our attention.
