Sammy Sosa, famous Chicago Cubs player and one of the best hitters in the big leagues, recently raised some eyebrows with his noticeably lighter skin at the Latin Grammys, prompting theories ranging from racial shame to him being a really REALLY big fan of Michael Jackson.

But in today’s Newsday, Sammy knocks those rumors out of the park like so many baseballs in his performance-enhanced past. According to Sosa, it was an unnamed skin cream and the lighting that was the culprit. He also mentions how he has not been in the sun nearly as much since retiring. This is enough for me, but others may not be convinced until Sammy passes a drug test. In the event that this happens, I’m hoping he doesn’t test positive for Caucasiabolic Steroids.
