Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matt Damon, and Johnny Depp have all graced People magazine’s cover as “The Sexiest Man Alive”. The annual issue showcases the best-looking men of the year, some of them without their shirts on, and gives women young and old a reason to flip through the glossy mag.

This year People is trying something new and taking the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ search online. On their Facebook page, People has allowed fans to vote from 5 different guys who are not just “sexy” but also heavily involved in social media.

The first guy you can vote for is Chad Ochocinco. Yes, the guy who legally changed his last name to match his jersey number. But c’mon Chad, if you’re going to impress the ladies you need to show a little more effort than that. Obviously, you would have been way more hardcore and sexy if you had changed your first name to ocho and your last name to cinco! Duh. But in all seriousness, I don’t think Ochocino deserves the title. Sure, he looks damn fine in the picture People selected as his head shot for the poll, and he probably has a bangin’ body but Google Images did him dirty. When I googled “ochocinco” to see if he was what I’d call hot, the first picture that came up, made up my mind pretty quick. No guy with hair like that can be taken seriously, and I think that grill might get in the way of smooching.

Second on the list is every one’s favorite DJ, Pauly D. The 30-year-old Rhode Island native can be seen on MTV’s smash-hit “Jersey Shore” beating up beats, drinking bottles, and putting a pound of hair gel in his hair each day. Pauly D is the likable guido on the show, the one who your Dad probably won’t be happy about if you bring home, but will eventually come around to liking. On the looks scale, Pauly D is hot, just not my type. If you’re a girl that’s into waiting around for your guy to get ready, then vote for him!

The next person you can vote for on People’s Facebook page is Vin Diesel. I know, who the hell cares about Vin Diesel? I don’t think he’s had a hit movie since, well, ever but nonetheless he’s famous and has 17 million Facebook fans. That’s more than Britney Spears, Lil Wayne, and Justin Timberlake, and in 2009 the only person who had more fans than Diesel was President Obama. This makes me think Diesel is either sending twenty bucks to fans liking his page or posting nude pictures of Paul Walker from the “Fast and Furious” days in his photo albums. Either way, Vin Diesel is hot and has some big muscles that could throw you around in the sack.

He can be your hero, but can he be your sexiest man alive? Enrique Iglesias, the 35-year-old Spanish singer, is undeniably sexy with his sultry looks and swoon-worthy voice. Most of his songs are about love and his music videos always feature beautiful women, some who’ve appeared: Jennifer Love-Hewitt, Mischa Barton, Nicole Scherzinger, Shannon Elizabeth, and Anna Kournikova. Enrique has the whole heartthrob singer thing going for him, and seeing him get hot and heavy with chicks in his videos is pretty easy to watch, too. With his latest smash single “I Like It”, Enrique is back in the game and if you “like it” then like him on Facebook and vote for him!

The last contestant’s name is Isaiah Mustafa, but you probably know him better as “The Old Spice Guy”. Mustafa is the topless guy they show in the shower who reaches out to you via what you send in through social media. This ad campaign was extremely well-done and clever, by reaching out to bloggers, the twitter community, and other internet people, Old Spice made their product tailored to you. The Old Spice Guy answered your questions and tweets, responding directly to you, bridging the gap between big company and small consumer. He took social media to another level by using it to ultimately get products sold and products reviewed on different sites. Looks-wise, Mustafa is definitely sexy. Not just any man can be so confident in just a towel. And, those chiseled abs? Yes, please!
