Socialite Approved: First Official “The Amazing Spider-Man” Trailer (video)

amazing spider man

X-Men last month, Captain America this week, new Batman trailer, and now (drumroll) The Spider-Man re-boot with Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, has just released it’s first official trailer. Are they ever going to stop with the Super Hero Movies? God, we hope not. Spider-Man’s last run on The Silver Screen ended less than 5 years ago, but with the dark, disturbing, and surprisingly intellectual, Christopher Nolan Batman movies, the bar for Super Hero movies has forever been raised. And what would a new revolution in Comic Book turned Cinema be without one of Marvel’s most popular characters, The Amazing Spider-Man.

The old Spider-Man movies seemed ok at the time, but in retrospect, it’s hard to take the primitive CGI, campy villains, and Tobey Maguire’s sense of humor seriously. What Spider-Man needs is a fresh-look with a real director, a real actor, and an engaging plotline for a now older generation of comic book geeks. Andrew Garfield, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for The Social Network will take on the role of Peter Parker, and be accompanied by Dennis Leary (always good for a laugh), and Emma Stone (always good for eye candy). The Director is Marc Webb who is best known for 500 Days of Summer. Kind of an up and comer, but someone who can think outside the box, and ultimately get the job done. In not so many words, this movie looks like it plans to be nothing less than amazing. Amazing Spider-Man, consider yourself Socialite Approved. Watch the trailer right below. Love the title change too.
