Movies: Drive

drive movie

Call it a man-crush, but I don’t care, Ryan Gosling is the frickin man. The dude just goes back and forth between hip indie flicks and giant studio movies, seamlessly. Drive is his newest big movie, and like all the others, it has an intelligent yet still awesome story. Gosling plays a Hollywood stunt-driver (ironic that he probably had 5 for this movie) that moonlights as an expertly-trained getaway driver. As you might have guessed, he’s also a mysterious yet charming loner. Eventually he picks the wrong job, a sexy damsel in distress (and her son) is introduced, and all Hell breaks loose. My guess, a lot of driving, but that’s never a bad thing, The Fast and The Furious series not withstanding.

TV: It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Season 7

Always sunny season 7

The once little-known show that almost didn’t make it to Season 2 has now reached Season 7, and all the madness starts up this Thursday. If you’ve been living under a rock for the last 6 months, everyone else in the world already knows the big story this season: Rob McElhenney (Mac) has gained 50 pounds. I suppose when you’re already married to Kaitlin Olson (Sweet Dee) in real life, transforming yourself into a sloppy fat mess isn’t the biggest deal in the world, but seriously, that’s dedication. Honor Rob’s struggle by tuning in to the fruits of his labor. We’ll see if a fat suit couldn’t suffice.
