Starbucks Offering Free WiFi Finally

Whenever I needed a place to go to get out of my distraction filled apartment or dorm, I would wander the streets until I found a place with WiFi. Although I probably didn’t need the Internet, all I had was a paper to write, still I needed to have something capable of distracting me.  Whenever I asked a store owner if they had free WiFi, they would reply “no, but checkout the Starbucks down the street.”  I would be so excited because there is always a Starbucks nearby, so I would gingerly walk to the local coffee shop and proceed to grab an iced coffee, sit down, and unpack my computer.  After turning on the computer and trying to check out ESPN.com or TheCampusSocialite.com (shameless plug) I would realize that I was duped.  Starbucks didn’t have free WiFi!  They somehow were branded as a place that had it, but really that stuff wasn’t free.  There was a whole ordering process and registration system in place that completely turned me off from going on the internet.

As of July 1st, 2010 free WiFi at Starbucks is actually just that, FREE WiFi.  No registration, no account, and no time limits!  So, next time you need a nice cup of joe and want to jerk it before class, just head to your local Starbucks because Internet is now FREE!
