Every girl wants a beach body in the summertime. What you need to do is eat right, drink water, exercise and…(coming from a lush it’s hard for me to say) stay away from alcohol.

TIP: To keep your metabolism going, eat 5-6 small meals a day.

Amanda’s Healthy Food Menu

Breakfast:

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. If you have the mindset that skipping it will keep you thin, you’re wrong. What will end up happening is you will stuff your face later in the day because you starved yourself for hours. Start the morning off with tea followed by some fruit. Substitute an English muffin for a bagel. Eggs are a good source of protein for breakfast, and are a great and healthy way to start your day.

Snack:

For a small treat have a yogurt with granola and fruit in it. You can also have a granola bar, rice cake with peanut butter or apples with peanut butter.

Lunch:

For lunch I would suggest a salad with spinach lettuce, grilled chicken, strawberries, and low fat Italian dressing. You don’t have to have a salad everyday for lunch but just try and keep it light.

Snack:

Again, try to eat something low in fat and calories. Try some carrots with low fat Italian dressing.

Dinner:

For dinner have something with protein in it. Although it is good to eat light throughout the day you need to make sure you are getting the nutrition needed to maintain a well balanced diet.

TIP: Limit calories because 3,500 is 1 pound.

TIP: Don’t eat late at night.

Alcohol:

During the summer it’s hard to stay away from beer, vodka, and foo foo drinks. Once in awhile it’s okay, just make sure you fudge afterwards, which usually happens anyway once alcohol gets in people’s systems.

TIP: Having sex burns calories.

Amanda’s tips on exercising

Running, swimming, and playing sports are ways to stay fit in the summer time. Try and exercise for an hour everyday if possible. Wake up every morning and do a set of crunches and go for a run. Not only is it healthy, it is a nice way to start the day. Running on the beach is also good because the sand sinks in helping your thigh muscles. If you go on vacation, wake up early a few times in the week and run on the beach. It is also an excuse to see the beautiful sunrise.
