Whether you’re moving into a dorm or into an apartment off campus, you want to make your room different and stand out. You don’t want plain walls and have people walk into your room and want to leave right away. With that in mind, here are five things to make sure you have a killer room.

5. Posters

Whether it’s a bunch of half naked girls hanging from your wall, or your favorite band, make sure your walls aren’t bare. People don’t want to stare at an empty wall when they’re hanging in your room. If they wanted to do that they could just sit in the hallway.

4. Speakers

You don’t need something so overpowering that you are blowing your neighbors ears out down the hall, but something that’s loud enough to get your room bumping while you pre-game before you go out.

3. Scent

Make sure your room smells good. I cant tell you how many times I’ve walked into people’s room and its smelled so bad, that I wanted to leave instantly. Have some Axe, Febreze, or some nice cologne and make sure your room doesn’t smell like a homeless person.

2. Own a Piece of School Clothing

So even if you aren’t the biggest football fan in the world, have a shirt/hoody or something that says where you go to school. This way you act like you actually go to the school, and also when you go home you can get to talking with people who also have clothing from your school.

1. Your Own Style

Whether you’re the preppy kid who wears Abercrombie and Fitch, or the kid who all he wears is jerseys, it’s important to have your own style in college. You want to make sure you don’t end up being a small fish in the big pond known as college.
