The President wants LeBron in Chi-Town

Well it seems like everyone is trying to sway LeBron James in the biggest free agency frenzy in the NBA for years. Reggie Miller is telling him to stay with the Cavs, which are a small town team, and finish out his career just like Reggie did with the Pacers. Hollywood stars and starlets are trying to bring LeBron in to Los Angeles, no not the Lakers, but the dirty step child team, the Clippers. And now the man that is the most influential man in the world right now, President Obama has told LeBron that Chicago is the way to go.

“You know, like I said, I don’t want to meddle,” Obama told TNT. “I will say this: (Derrick) Rose, Joakim Noah it’s a pretty good core. You know, you could see LeBron fitting in pretty well there.”  Obama compared James’ situation to the Bulls not winning until Michael Jordan had confidence in Phil Jackson, Scottie Pippen and the rest of his teammates. Once that happened, Chicago won six NBA championships in the 1990s.

“It wasn’t until you got that framework around you that you could be a champion,” Obama said. “Same thing happened with Kobe (Bryant). You know, I think that, first with Shaq (O’Neal) then later with (Pau) Gasol, you know, he’s gotten that sense of a team around him and I think LeBron hasn’t quite been able to get that yet. That’s what he needs to find.”

Well there you have it LeBron, Obama thinks that Derrick Rose can be your Pau Gasol to Kobe Bryant, Your Scottie to Michael, your Shaq to Kobe. But is that really your best option LeBron. Now I am a Knick fan, I bleed that orange and blue, I have gone through some tough times with this team and this free agency beginning on July 1st, it will be a historic day in my eyes for the Knicks. Now I now Derrick Rose is a talented, world class basketball player and actually reminds me of a young Dwayne Wade, But if the Knicks have a plan then they will bring in a better talent to accompany LeBron that would be a better fit for LeBron and his style of play.

You don’t think a big man like Chris Bosh would be a better fit with LeBron?

A big man like Amare Stoudemire?

Or would Dwayne Wade, the player that I said is a slightly older version of Derrick Rose, be a better fit?

Now Mr.President, I know you’re a smart guy and your trying to bring in arguably the best basketball player in the NBA to your hometown but I think you should stick to politics. If you think a piece like Joakim Noah is part of a “ good core”,  then you’re crazy, the guy barely averages a double double on a team that does not have many scoring options on the inside. I really do not think your words will sway LeBron’s decision, but who knows, I could just be talking out of my a**, and LeBron signs with Chicago and wins multiple championships under Michael Jordan’s shadow, but I think LeBron wants to create his own legacy and make his own shadow for someone else to try and live under, don’t you?
