There have been countless times over the course of the last year that some trendy, indie douchebag tried to “enlighten” me on the next big indie act. There have also been tons of times over the course of the last 12 months that I have had to sit through some of the worst music of my life. Since when did people start reading “unique” as a synonym for “good.” General rule of thumb is, unless you are Jazz, I subtract one letter grade for each time signature used beyond the first. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I just want to hear immaculately produced Pop/Rock that brings us back to the days of melodic harmonys, rocking riffs, and big drums (sans the 80’s reverb). With all of that in mind, I will now act like some trendy, indie douchebag. You guys really should check Atomic Tom out.

They just digitally released on iTunes after recently being signed to Universal Republic. My friends and I met them while they were recording at Q division, a studio in Boston, (Somerville) and after hearing one track we were like… wow these guys are a lot better than us. You have to check out some of their tracks.

I suggest the single (Take Me Out) and one of the off-tracks (Maybe I’m Wrong), the latter of which was what we first heard (and made our jaws drop).

That’s it.
