Zach Galifianakis is a man of many attributes. Unfettered facial hair, piano accompanied comedy, volatile mood swings, and beer swilling binges are just a few of Zach’s flagship qualities, however he is known best for an outrageously eccentric sense of humor that has taken audiences by storm since his breakthrough performance in The Hangover. I have closely followed Galifianakis’s career and have been a huge fan of his since his early standup days and short-lived late night run on VH1’s “Late World with Zach.” Galifianakis does some of his best work away from TV and the silver screen and has created a web phenomenon with his “Between Two Ferns With Zach Galifianakis” series on Funny Or Die. Let’s take a look at his absurd interviews with some of Hollywood’s leading names; just make sure you have the headphones plugged in if you are in class or at the office because these videos are not 100% worksafe.
This first video features Galifianakis at his most awkward as he sits down with A-list actress Natalie Portman. Sweaty and nervous, Zach is made uncomfortable by Natalie’s dog, Whiz. I could go on an on about the hilarity that ensues, but I think the video speaks for itself:
Zach’s guest in this next clip is “Mad Men” leading man, John Hamm. Galifianakis throws everything at Hamm here – from poking fun at his deli meat last name to sneezing directly on the actor’s lap, the comic pulls no punches:
If you thought Galifianakis was charming throughout his time with Natalie Portman, just wait and see how he handles a few exclusive minutes with Australian beauty and Academy Award winning actress Charlize Theron:
Zach has produced several more episodes of “Between Two Ferns.” To see the entire web series, check out http://www.funnyordie.com/between_two_ferns/videos.
