As college students, we are preoccupied with classes, work, social life and have minimal room for rest. With all the fees that we are paying for college, there is one in particular we must bring to light and that is the athletic fee. We pay the money for it but yet we do not utilize the gym as we properly should.Unless you are all about being healthy or an athlete in  school for that matter, the gym is the last thing on our minds.Instead what do we do? We attempt to take the easy way out by resorting to diet pills. The real question at hand is: how effective are they?

What we first need to realize is that a majority of the diet pills on the market are not approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). On top of that, some of the diet pills such as Alli and Xenadrine act as supplements. What this means is that you are not going to think you are going to pop a pill a day and just magically lose some weight. It is just not possible. One has to have the will and determination if they wish to keep in shape or lose some weight. Of course, we are inclined to believing some of the things we see because we see such good looking men, women and even celebrities boasting about their figures and weight lost thanks to these pills.  If you really pay attention to these commercials that you watch, it would serve you well to look at the fine print. Notice that all results may vary including yours and ff you truly want to lose some weight here is what you need to do.

For one, look at everything  that you do from what you eat to the way you go about your life. Think about cutting down on the fatty foods, take a healthier and portion type of approach to food. Plan out a workout regimen. If you cannot make it to the school’s gym, try to do some form of physical activity that includes stretching and working out the body for at least thirty minutes a day. It is proven that one can maintain their weight with a thirty minute workout with a minimum of three days per week. If you do not know how to go about exercising, you can look into TaeBo videos, Zumba or even channels that cater to rigorous workouts to your liking.

Last but not least, if you feel the need to consume these diet pills, shakes, bars and we don’t know what else that equates into “guaranteed” weight loss, talk to your physician, doctor or nutritionist to ensure what you are doing is not detrimental to your body. Make sure to not overdo anything that you are doing and achieve the “look” that you want. Now go out and explore the better you!
