Make Quick Cash Over Winter Break

Winter break is not only the best, but also the longest break of the year, other than summer vacation, of course. This can be both good and bad. Good because after fall semester, most people are completely burnt out after doing so much work for exams, but bad because the break can be too long, and cause extreme boredom. Since winter break is too short to get a real job, like you can during summer break, making money over the break can prove to be a problem. Don’t fret though; there are still some easy jobs out there that can make you some extra mullah, without having to work full time.

Babysitting

This can be one of the easiest and most entertaining jobs out there, unless you are babysitting demon children. Babysitting is on a “need” basis so it won’t require you to always work constantly. The first step is finding a family who has little kids that may need a babysitter. You can do this by asking your parents or friends if they know of a family who might need your help. New Years Eve is the BEST way to get a lot of money for babysitting. If you don’t have any plans for New Years, or just want to make a lot of dough, think about babysitting. I know this may kill the fun of New Years Eve for you, but the extra money may be worth the sacrifice.

EBay

Look around your room. There is probably a bunch of junk that you have that you never use. Well, take that junk and sell it on EBay. Selling things on EBay is not only simple, but also hardly requires any effort. Simply make an account and take pictures of the crap that you are selling, then just wait. As the saying goes, one man’s trash may be another man’s treasure. This is especially true on EBay, so don’t be surprised when people start to bid on your stuff.

Watching Pets

People always go away over the holidays on vacation and need someone to watch their pets. Find someone who is going away over the break and offer to watch their beloved “Fluffy” or “Spike.” Pet sitting is easy. You are probably only going to have to go over to their house two to three times a day depending on the animal that you are watching. If it’s a cat, it will require you little to no effort. All you have to do is feed them. Dogs are a little trickier, since not only do you need to feed them, but you also need to walk them and play with them. However, watching dogs will most likely earn you more money than watching cats.

Shoveling Snow

As I sit by the pool, lying out in the sun, I cannot help but think about all my friends who are trapped inside due to snow. I love living in Florida, especially over winter break. However, if you are one of the unfortunate souls who live up north in the snowy cold, shoveling snow can be a great way to earn extra money. I know that most people got hit with that blizzard on the east coast, so pick up the shovel or snow blower and offer to dig your neighbor’s car out of the snow. I’m sure they would be more than happy to pay you for your hard work.
