You have to talk to someone at Penn State to really understand how much Joe Pa means to those students. Or better yet, just turn on the news. State College is in full-out riot mode, with thousands of students pouring out into the streets to show support for their coach. If you want my opinion, read my Joe Pa article, but today’s focus is on just how insane things have gotten at Penn State. Below are a few pictures taken by one of our Campus Socialite Ambassadors on campus. Needless to say, Shit Has Gotten Real!

Jerry Lawler is one of the most well known wrestling personalities of all time with a career that spans decades. I got a chance to talk to him about how long he sees himself getting in the ring, his feud and matches with The Miz earlier this year, what he thinks about UFC, and some stories about good ol’ Stamford, CT. A SHORT AND SWEET interview you don’t want to miss!
Legendary Penn State coach Joe Paterno announced today that he will retire at the end of the season. Sad day for Penn State and a sad day for college sports. Joe Pa is one of the most beloved coaches in college football history, let alone Penn State history. What has been a legendary and tarnish-free career will now end in disgrace.
Jake joins myself and my co-host Derrick Kosinski to talk about who he wants to take on next, what went wrong in his two recent losses, his predictions for a ton of upcoming fights and a whole lot more! This is an interview you do not want to miss as you will not believe who Jake calls out!
We have a great slate of games this week. Division rivalries, a Super Bowl rematch and, just to balance that out, two NFC west and two AFC west teams are playing each other. This is tempered by the fact that this week means the regular season is more than half over after this week. With the NBA still on strike, I have become totally dependent on the NFL to keep me sane. I don’t know what I’ll do come February if the NBA season is cancelled. Kill myself? Yeah that sounds good.

Friday Night Fights, a fight promotion company operating out of lower Manhattan, offered us some free tickets and the chance to sit down with their President, Justin Blair and amateur Thai Boxer, Alex Ma. Plus the chance to win some free tickets.
If you haven’t realized by now, nobody loves Parkour more than The Campus Socialite. I probably couldn’t tell you the difference between an amateur and a pro, but I can say that this video of actual Parkour competition at the 2011 National Parkour Summit (Yeah, go figure) makes that first scene in Casino Royale look like a jog around the track. Yeah, it’s epic.
Remember when Dana White announced that he would pay his UFC fighters bonuses for Tweeting, thus breaking new ground in the world of sports social media? Well a Mexican soccer team known as the Jaguares in the Mexican Primera Division have raised the bar again. Rather than traditional names on the backs of jerseys, players will now wear their Twitter handles instead.
One of the dumbest rules in NCAA history (the one that states that college players can’t receive any financial reward for doing a job that makes their school millions of dollars a year) is officially gone. Well, compromised. Student athletes who receive full scholarships will now be given up to $2,000 per season for their hard work and sacrifice.
