Saturday is here and it’s time to hit the clubs and we’re here to get you going with the sickest track of the week. Drive to it, pre-game to it, and when the hot chick in the club says “OMG This song is amazing. Do you know it?” you’ll know it. This week’s track is “Walking Alone” by Dirty South. It’s big, it’s dirty and it’s going to make your weekend. Hear it right after the jump.

Too legit to quit is right. We should have stopped hearing the name MC Hammer years ago yet he continues to make the news every so often for reasons that grow more and more ridiculous with time. The story this week is either a genius PR stunt or the ravings of a washed up lunatic. Mr. Hammer is launching his own Search Engine which he hopes will compete with Google and Bing.
You might remember last night when we told you that Deadmau5 at Pic a Chic Farm was rained out, and the world renowned DJ/producer went to The Bluebird to play an awesome late night set. We hear he played more than 4 hours, and Feed Me and Le Castle Vania joined him (sorry Excision). Wanna see? Here’s a sick video.
The sleek black with red trim look is perfect for head-bobbing to some Lil Wayne, strolling through the dorms or sitting and reading The Campus Socialite. These days there’s Pandora, Spotify, Turntable.fm, Grooveshark and any number of platforms that allow you to get whatever music you want, when you want. With all that music, all the time, who has time or care for radio? College Radio, the place to hear local bands, support your friends and bolster your resume is becoming a sad casualty.
Esquire Magazine, a lesser GQ in my opinion picks a girl every year who they deem to be The Sexiest Woman Alive. This year is everyone’s favorite S&M Freak, Rihanna. Rihanna exploded on the scene with “Umbrella” just a few years ago but she has taken over the airwaves, on her songs, on other’s songs, and propelled herself past Lady Gaga as music’s Top Bitch. Plus, she’s super frickin hot.
Biggie, Jay-Z, Mos Def and now D. Chamberz, Brooklyn’s newest Rapper is rising up the charts. Chamberz’s much anticipated and brand new video for “Only One” will finally be released this Wednesday at a release party being thrown by Chamberz and crew. The video features Pure and is directed by Mills Miller and the premiere will go down at La Pomme in NYC.
Jeez, what’s with all these music documentaries today? First RE:GENERATION, now this: a film that documents the whole of Ultra Music Festival 2011. For those who don’t know, Ultra ran its first 3-day festival this year, and it sold out plus some. It was a crazy, crazy event and people are already getting pumped for next year’s. Check out this dope trailer for the movie.
Welcome to the future, Socialites. The Parrot Asteroid for all intents and purposes is basically a Droid (or iPhone if it used iOS) lodged in the dashboard of your car. You know how touch screen and smart technology changed the way you use a phone? Get ready to have it change the way you use a car.
